Hospital pt.2, Baptism and Ward Christmas party
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to the Adventures of Elder Price, this country is so amazing and pretty, but man is it trying to kill me!
Like usual, I've been pretty sick but this time with stomach problems, I had a really bad week. For 4 days I had stomach problems pretty bad, 3 days I didn't go to the bathroom and then the next day I went 9 times. Maybe too much info but just letting you know what life here on the mission is really like. Elder Ramirez finally had enough of me asking to find a bathroom, so he called our mission Presidents wife, and she told me to go to the hospital. I got WEIGHED and ready for this.......160lbs after going to the bathroom 9 times!!!
When I left for my mission, I was only 140 I've gained some weight in the past 5 months HAHA. They ran some tests on me and did some stuff and the doctor said that it's a problem with my colon. She said I need to eat less greasy and oily food. Problem is that everything is deep fried. I told my pensionista and she said she is going to cook less oily foods (We think it's her fault because she uses a ton of oil to cook everything). but anyways I'll be fine. They just said if it doesn't get better, I have to go back in in a month and get an ultrasound.
BAPTISM THIS WEEK, we baptized a girl name Brigithe with her friend Betsabe (who is a member who just turned 8). Everything went well and they were super excited and nervous the day of the Baptism. It may or may not have taken a few tries for the dad to get her daughter to go under the water because she was scared but it worked out.
PARTYYYYYY! This week was the ward Christmas party and let me tell you It was lit!! Latino Santa Claus goes crazy! He was dancing and singing and just having a blast. We had 185 people attend and they were excepting 250 so they had a ton of food and pop left over, so we got a 3 liter of Pepsi for free. It was all great except when we got there, they told me I needed to share a message. I still don't feel like I can wing a 5 min message in Spanish in front of 185 people so I sat down and wrote as fast as I could, and it really didn't matter because no one could hear me. The microphone was terrible.
The rest of the week we did a ton of walking and some teaching. We were busy with random stuff this week, so we didn't find very many people to teach but we are still working to find more people. Church on Sunday was fun because our second counselor bought root beer and Oreos and a bunch of other snacks so during second our we were doing forms for the baptism we were chilling eating a ton of snacks.
This country is crazy for December. There have already been parades, festivals, light shows and fireworks every night and I'm not exaggerating. Legit every night. I can't wait to see what it will be like the 3 days before Christmas!
As usual, trying to get rest in my hammock, finally can understand a lot of Spanish and always getting yelled at by drunk people.
Love you all, Elder Price
