Merry Christmas, Tegucigalpa and 0 work
Merry Christmas y'all. It doesn't seem like Christmas because it's hot here. So, it hasn't been too hard on me being away for my first Christmas.
Last p-day we had a mission wide p-day in Tegucigalpa. We woke up at 4am to catch a bus to go there. With our luck our bus broke down in the mountains, so we had to catch another bus and since it was so full, we stood for an hour and a half which wasn't terrible. Then we got our second dose of the rabies shots and a flu shot and continued to play soccer and basketball. We had pizza with the entire mission. It was really fun. That night we went to city mall to buy gifts for a zone secret Santa and after we stayed the night in Comayaguela. It was freezing that night, and I didn't have any sheets or anything, so I slept in a t-shirt and jeans and still froze. Then we had our Christmas multi-zone where we all got Santa hats from President and had some really good turkey and other food.
Wednesday was the only day we worked this week. We went to the mall in our area and bought some gifts for people and then went out contacting with a member named Gerald. He just received his mission call to Guatemala. We had no luck which was a bummer but then he bought us Popeyes for dinner.
Thursday started off lit but turned for the worst. We woke up and left our house at 7:15am to go make tamales with a lady which was a super cool experience, and we were there until noon. Once we got home my stomach started to not feel good and I ended up having the worst stomach problems I've had yet. Once I started to get some relief, I went to bed and woke up at 1 to Ramirez throwing up. The next morning, we both where just dead and couldn't eat anything, had 0 energy so Friday and Saturday we didn't hardly leave the house except to buy medicine and more toilet paper HAHA.(which we are lucky cause we live on top of a pharmacy) and for 3 days all I ate was 3 pieces of bread and a little piece of chicken, so I defiantly have lost some weight.
Sunday- Ramirez and I started to feel a bit better, so we went to church and after church we went to our pensionistas house, and she bought us wings. They were good but they were the first thing I really ate in 3 days and jeez did my stomach not like that so me and Ramirez took a taxi home cause Ramirez thought he was going to throw them up. Luckily, he didn't. Then we went and visited some of our favorite families in the ward and at 9:30 we went to Piedras Bonita's to party and stay the night.
Christmas is celebrated a little differently here. Instead of going to bed and waking up in the morning to presents, they stay up till midnight shooting of fireworks (we were able to enjoy some) then around 1am they open presents then go to bed. I personally think it's strange.
So yeah, like always this country's trying to kill me but I'm feeling a little better this morning.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Love you all, Elder Price
