Las Americas and Miracles!!!
Hey y'all how are you doing? I'm doing greater than I ever have in my mission. Last week I had to say goodbye to everyone in La Esperanza which was super sad because I love the members there and had a really fun time. Tuesday we traveled to Tegus which took 5 hours to get to transfers. But now I am in LAS AMERICAS with Elder Vasquez. This zone happens to be the zone with the temple. Our ward attends church in the church building on the temple grounds and because of that I get to go to the temple grounds like 3 times a week for activity's and church.
I've always heard that this area is a tuff area because everyone tiene plata(is rich). But I told myself the day of transfers I don't care where I go im just going to enjoy my time there and work hard.(as long as it wasn't monteray HAHA). When I got here we went and visited a ton of members and some investigators and its literally feel like Idaho falls to me, most the members are older but super sweet. I ended up eating an average of 4 meals a day and probably drank a gallon of juice a day cause every house we visited gave us something.
We decided to do a fast for the month of March for our zone and for the mission so that we can receive blessing and miracles. I have already seen so many miracles.
Miracle number 1.
Friday we did an activity with the sister missionaries here. We printed our 200 invitations to our english class and we stood out in the middle of the road and gave them to cars as they passed by.(almost got my feet ran over) Now just to explain the week before I got here they had only 2 people show up and they where both members. This Saturday we had 16 people show up and only half were members so it was a total success. My comp and I taught the beginner class while the Hermanas taught the advanced. Afterwards we got everyones number and started to clean up. While we where cleaning my comp and I saw these two teenagers walking around the temple grounds and so we felt we needed to go talk to them and when we did the first 2 things they said to us is "Hey we are going to come to church tomorrow and what is the temple for?" So me and my comp walked them around the temple and taught them what its for and gave them a Book of Mormon and guess what... THEY CAME TO CHURCH!!!! But they live in the sisters area so we passed them off which is a little sad but its fine cause it was the greatest thing ever and we secretly know if they get baptized it's thanks to us. haha.
Miracle number 2.
The missionarys have been teaching this guy named Mario for 2 years which is sooo long and the other night we had a lesson with him and I told my comp look compa we need to be direct with him about baptism and solve all the worrys he has. Well we did and we invited him to be baptized and GUESS WHAT... He said no... but we went and visited him again on Sunday and my comp asked 5 times during the lesson "is there anything hermano that you want to ask or comment" and I was trying to finish the lesson and I was thinking, why is my comp asking that so many times throughout the lesson. But right at the end Mario said that he had been thinking a lot about what we said to him the other day about baptism and he's ready to get baptized!!!!! We were so excited but were trying so hard to keep our excitement and emotions in until we left his house.
Miracle number 3.
We had a lesson with this kid named yeison( jason ) on sunday by video call. we taught him Lesson 3 which is baptism and we asked him if he has the desire to be baptized and he said yesss!!!!
I've never seen so many miracles in my mission so quickly in an area.
Spiritual thought: Sorry but this one might be a little long today. I have been having such a great time and have felt the spirit so strong this last week. First off I would like to talk about
Temples. Here in Honduras the temple grounds are surrounded by a fence so you have to enter in through a gate. As soon as I walk through that gate I forget I'm in Honduras. It just seems like a different world there at the Temple. The spirit is so strong and I feel so much peace and silence as soon as I step through the gate. I can testify that temples are the house of the Lord and that that place is different from the rest of the world. Also I would like to testify about fasting. I personally don't really like to fast especially as a missionary because we walk all day in this 85 degree weather which feels like torture enough with food and water but I can strongly testify that if you fast with a purpose and a good attitude that God will answer your prayers and that you will see the hand of God in your life.
Thats about all the amazing things that happened this week.
Love you all, Elder Price
