First Baptism! I met Joseph Smith and weekly run through.

Like the title says, I baptized my first person on my mission. His name is Francisco Morales. It's weird here because you get called by your first name, so everyone calls him Hermano Francisco. But anyways he's awesome. He lives on top of a literal mountain, and I've visited him 5 times. I want to die every time HAHA. We invited investigators who are thinking about getting baptized to come and 5 showed up so that was good. I was so nervous I was going to mess something up but it all went smoothly except after the baptism we realized I forgot to pull the drain so I pulled my pants as high up my legs as I could and climbed back in. Welp, it didn't work they got soaked from my knee's down. Fun fact actually I met the "REAL" JOSEPH SMITH. He's not actually white, he's Catrachos (From Honduras). This crazy guy yelled at us from across the street "Hey mormonies I need to talk to you!" we immediately knew this guy was crazy. He then told us he ...

Hospital, Dia De Indepidencia and weekly run through

Image
I can officially say I've barely survived my first 2 months on my mission!  This week has been something else. I decided that I needed to go to the doctor because I had been sick for 2 weeks and wasn't getting any better. Well, fun fact there aren't regular doctor's offices here, so we went to the hospital. I got checked out for everything. The nurse lady tickled my brain twice to see if I had covid or something else. Then I got some X-rays and I got GOOD news and BAD news. Good news the doctor said I'll probably live.... I think.  I don't really know what he said because he didn't speak English.  Bad news I have bronchitis and something with my left sinus. They injected me with 60+ ml of fluid idk what it was but I could feel it LITERALLY going through my veins. Then they gave me like 4 drugs to take and I had to go back for 3 days in a row to use a ventilator thing for breathing treatments. Monday- This P-day was pretty fun.  We got together with Elder...

I'm dying but good food.

I'm not actually dying but I've been sick the entire time I've been here. I can't catch a break. I've had a stuffy nose and cough; Itchy eyes a couple days ago and now have some "allergic reaction" happen on my back.  I'm sure I'll be fine eventually. The food here is amazing. Basically, every meal consists of Monekia which is similar to sour cream but not really just same texture (I hate actual sour cream), fried Platano's, beans, tortillas and some sort of meat or eggs. It is so good; I'm going to end up fat here. Well for the weekly run through! Monday- We got together as a zone for P-day.  I was able to hang out with Elder Mills and Elder Averret who were in my house in the MTC.  We played Futbol and I got wrecked.  It's nice to see familiar faces though.   Tuesday- I was on an exchange with Elder averret and his companion and we went and explored the new area.  We walked 9 miles that day.  It was up a mountain, and I was exhauste...

Goodbye CCM, Welcome to the Jungle

This place is crazy!!!! I'm sorry but this email is going to be long.   I got a lot to talk about this week. I'm in Honduras now and I've only been here for 4 days but it's been fun and crazy. Monday- Wednesday:  I was finishing up at the MTC so not much happened.  We were still doing regular MTC stuff like going to class and learning Spanish. We said goodbye to our teachers and had our final tienda run. Thursday- Kinda crazy day to be honest.  I finished packing and started to say my goodbyes to people since everyone was leaving. My companion Budge AKA booj left first and we left right after at noon. When we got to the airport, they got us to security and said good luck and then left. It got real really fast!!   Our plane got delayed for 2 hours so when we finally landed in Honduras it was pretty late. 4 missionaries picked us up and we hopped on this sketchy bus and drove 2 hours to the mission office. We dropped our suitcases off then jumped ...
